ONE-HUNDRED-YEAR-OLD HARDWARE STORE JOINS THE BMR GROUP’S NETWORK
WELCOME QUINCAILLERIE J.R. GRÉGOIRE
Montréal, August 10, 2020 – BMR Group is very pleased to announce that Quincaillerie J.R. Grégoire, a one-hundred-year-old store located at 3605 Ontario Street in Montréal, has joined its vast network. Delphine Grégoire, the 3rd generation store owner at the helm of this family business that was started in 1920, decided to change groups after having operated under the RONA banner for more than 80 years.
“I was looking for a strong partner capable of supporting and helping me achieve my ambitions. For me, the choice was obvious. I was immediately taken with the network’s cooperative values and also by the fact that BMR Group is 100% Quebec based. This wind of change occurs just in time for our 100-year anniversary, and I’m convinced that it will be greatly beneficial for us and our clients,” says Ms. Grégoire.
Women at the heart of the family business
The business, which was founded by Joseph-Raphaël Grégoire in 1920, has always been in the hands of the women of the family. Indeed, Delphine Grégoire grew up in the business. Her father, mother and aunt were, in turn, at the helm of the store, before much later on in 2010, when Delphine took over the reins. No stranger to the renovation and construction industry, this strong-minded woman has the hardware business in her DNA!

The store, which is planning to redesign its façade to display its new colours, will open under the BMR Express banner, a renovation destination where customers can get the latest products and very personalized service.
