Boucherville, July 7, 2022 – BMR Group and H. Dagenais et fils inc., two major players in the renovation, construction and hardware industry, are pleased to announce today that they will soon join forces to better serve local customers. The new collaboration will begin on January 15, 2023.

Industry trailblazer H. Dagenais et fils inc., founded over 90 years ago in the Laurentians, will be joining BMR Group and preserving the identity and brand that it has built over the past three generations. Today, the retailer spans two locations, one in Saint-Sauveur and one in Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, and relies on the expertise of its 180 team members.

After operating for the last 50 years under a different banner and growing to become one of its largest dealers in Canada, H. Dagenais et fils inc. decided to join BMR Group to improve the company’s service offering.

“As a leader in eastern Canada’s renovation, construction and hardware industry, BMR Group represents an unmatched business partner for H. Dagenais et fils inc. to ensure the continued success of our business that has been growing for 90 years,” say Annie and Martin Dagenais, owners of the business. “Joining the ranks of BMR Group is a huge point of pride for us.”

In recent years, H. Dagenais et fils inc. has experienced stellar growth thanks to its loyal employees and customers, and the company will be pursuing its development plan in collaboration with its new buying group.

“Our two organizations share common values that are deeply anchored in our respective DNA,” add Annie and Martin Dagenais. “With the arrival of Alexandre Lefebvre as CEO of BMR Group in 2021, the banner also gained a significant amount of credibility, making it an undeniable asset to us in reaching and surpassing our growth targets. This partnership will benefit our family business with a seasoned purchasing team that is dedicated to affiliated dealers and knows the market well.”

“Acquiring H. Dagenais et fils inc. is excellent news for BMR Group,” says Alexandre Lefebvre, CEO of BMR Group. “It will help us consolidate our position as a leader serving Canadian consumers and contractors. Our business is currently undergoing a period of robust growth, and this partnership will help us once again reinforce our positioning and strengthen our impact on the local economy.”
