Nipple. • 316 Stainless Steel is used in many food processing applications due to it's higher resistance to corrosion and many more chemicals • Typical uses for 316 include but are not limited to potable water, food processing equipment, fisheries industry, marine industry, pulp and paper mills and agricultural industry • Installing nipples requires the use of quality pipe joint compound or PTFE tape formulated specifically for Stainless applications • Failure to do so results in ruining the nipple due to thread galling, and the inability to create a water tight joint • For a leak free solution use Plumb-eeze pipe joint compound.
