Boucherville, July 9, 2021 - Groupe BMR and Matériaux Pont-Masson, two major Canadian retailers of hardware and renovation products, are pleased to announce that they will be joining forces to serve local communities. Matériaux Pont-Masson, which specializes in services for contractors and self-builders, will join BMR Group, while still retaining its own identity and brand.

After more than 33 years under the Rona banner, being even one of the most important dealers of this banner in Canada, Matériaux Pont-Masson's president, Éric Bailey, decided to join BMR to better complement its service offer. "As a major player in the hardware industry in Quebec and Canada, BMR represents for Matériaux Pont-Masson an outstanding business partner to ensure the continuity of our success, which has been active for more than 40 years now. Joining BMR is a privilege and I look forward to working as a team to help the group grow," he says. He noted that the company has grown tremendously thanks to its loyal employees and clients and intends to continue its development plan in collaboration with its new associates.

Continued Growth for the Benefit of Clients

"Welcoming Matériaux Pont-Masson is excellent news for Groupe BMR, which allows us to consolidate our position as a leader in serving local entrepreneurs. We are experiencing an exceptional year in terms of sales, and this association allows us to reinforce, once again, our positioning in and our impact on the local economy. With the arrival of Matériaux Pont-Masson, in addition to the other merchants who have joined our group since the beginning of the year, BMR is on track to surpass its objective of increasing its sales by $200 million in 2021," says Alexandre Lefebvre, Groupe BMR's Chief Executive Officer.

"We are pleased to welcome Matériaux Pont-Masson and its seven points of sale to BMR, which expands our network of merchants. This alliance will not only allow us to increase our presence in key markets, particularly in Ontario, but also to enhance our product offering to our customers with the wide range of products that are exclusive to Matériaux Pont-Masson, all at competitive prices. We look forward to working with Mr. Bailey and his team," said Jonathan Gendreau, Vice-president, Strategy and Network Development, Groupe BMR.
